Between 2022 and 2024, I worked at an SEO agency where I managed SEO campaigns for multiple businesses across industries like trekking, travel, SaaS, AI, blogging, and local businesses. During that period, I worked directly on more than 12 WordPress-based projects where my role involved technical SEO, content strategy, on-page optimization, keyword research, link building, and growth-focused SEO execution.
Since most of these businesses relied heavily on organic traffic for generating leads and revenue, the impact of SEO was directly connected to business growth. Instead of focusing only on rankings, my goal was always to improve traffic quality, lead generation, and conversion opportunities that could contribute to long-term revenue growth.
Industries & Businesses I Worked With
During my agency period, I worked on projects including:
- Trekking and travel companies
- Course Websites
- Blogging and affiliate websites
- Local business websites
- Tourism-focused brands
Some of the major projects I worked on included:
- Mission Himalaya Treks
- Nepal Social Treks
- Heaven Himalaya
- Life Himalaya Trekking
- AME Treks
- Chorus Nepal
- Takeo.ai
Each project required a different SEO strategy depending on the competition level, search intent, and business goals.
Technical SEO Optimization
One of my main responsibilities across almost every project was solving technical SEO problems that were silently affecting rankings and crawl efficiency.
I worked on fixing:
- Broken internal links
- Redirect issues
- Duplicate metadata
- Thin content pages
- Crawl inefficiencies
- Indexing problems
- Poor site structures
- Slow-loading pages
- Weak internal linking systems
For WordPress-based websites, I also improved category structures, URL hierarchy, and overall crawlability to help search engines understand the websites more efficiently.
Result & Impact
After solving technical SEO problems, most websites started showing noticeable improvements in crawl health, indexing consistency, and keyword stability. Pages that were previously struggling to rank started gaining visibility more consistently.
For service-based businesses, these improvements helped increase visibility for commercial keywords that directly contributed to more inquiries and booking opportunities.
Commercial Keyword Research & Service Page Optimization
For travel and trekking companies, I focused heavily on improving service pages because these pages directly influenced leads and revenue.
I researched and optimized high-converting keywords related to:
- Everest Base Camp Trek
- Annapurna Circuit Trek
- Langtang Trek
- Manaslu Circuit Trek
- Luxury Trekking Packages
- Peak Climbing Packages
- Nepal Tour Packages
I improved service page structures, optimized metadata, strengthened internal linking, and enhanced keyword targeting to improve commercial rankings.
Result & Impact
Several service pages started ranking significantly better for commercial intent keywords, leading to higher organic inquiries and more consistent booking opportunities.
Since trekking businesses heavily rely on inbound organic leads, ranking improvements on these pages directly impacted business revenue potential.
Blog Content Strategy & Informational SEO
Another major area I handled was informational content strategy.
Instead of relying only on commercial pages, I built blog strategies focused on attracting users earlier in their search journey. I researched informational keywords, content gaps, and low-competition opportunities that could drive large amounts of organic traffic.
I worked on:
- Blog topic research
- Content planning
- Internal linking strategy
- Topical clustering
- SEO optimization for blog content
- Updating outdated articles
The goal was to build topical authority while also increasing the website’s overall visibility.
Result & Impact
For several projects, blog traffic became one of the biggest traffic drivers within months. The increased informational traffic improved overall domain authority and also created additional conversion opportunities through strategically placed internal links.
This helped businesses generate more brand visibility, organic inquiries, and long-term traffic sustainability.
Mission Himalaya Treks — Major SEO Growth
One of the biggest projects I worked on was Mission Himalaya Treks.
When I started working on the project, the website had limited visibility and weaker organic growth compared to its market potential. I independently handled technical SEO, keyword strategy, content optimization, and internal linking improvements.

I focused heavily on:
- Optimizing trekking package pages
- Building blog clusters
- Improving site structure
- Strengthening internal links
- Scaling informational content
- Improving metadata and page targeting
Result & Impact
Within around six months, the website experienced massive growth in organic visibility. Keyword rankings improved significantly, and organic traffic increased more than 50x compared to the earlier stage of the campaign.
Most importantly, the increased traffic started generating more business inquiries and trekking bookings through organic search, directly contributing to revenue growth opportunities.
Nepal Social Treks — Scaling Traffic Through Content SEO
For Nepal Social Treks, my strategy focused heavily on scaling informational traffic through SEO-focused content marketing.
I identified large keyword opportunities related to trekking guides, travel information, and destination-focused content that competitors were not fully covering.

I worked on:
- Content gap research
- Blog scaling strategy
- Internal linking optimization
- Supporting commercial pages with informational content
- Updating older articles for freshness and rankings
Result & Impact
The website started gaining strong traffic momentum within months. Informational content began driving a large volume of organic traffic while also improving the visibility of commercial pages.
As traffic grew, the website started receiving more inquiries and improved overall brand visibility within the trekking industry.
Course Website SEO Projects
For projects like Takeo.ai, the SEO strategy required a completely different approach compared to travel businesses.
The focus shifted more toward:
- Technical SEO
- Authority building
- Competitive keyword targeting
- Product-focused content strategy
- Search intent optimization
- On-page content structure
Since SaaS industries are highly competitive, maintaining SEO consistency became extremely important.
Result & Impact
During the active SEO period, the website showed strong growth momentum and improved organic visibility. However, after the SEO campaign stopped, traffic gradually declined again, showing how critical continuous SEO maintenance is in competitive industries.
This project gave me valuable experience in handling SEO for highly competitive SaaS environments.
Link Building & Off-Page SEO
I also worked on off-page SEO strategies for multiple projects to improve authority and search trust.
This included:
- Outreach campaigns
- Directory submissions
- Niche-relevant backlinks
- Guest posting opportunities
- Anchor text optimization
- Link profile management
Result & Impact
As domain authority improved, websites started ranking more competitively for both commercial and informational keywords. Improved authority also helped new content rank faster and perform more consistently.
For several businesses, stronger authority directly contributed to increased organic leads and visibility.
Revenue-Focused SEO Strategy
One of the biggest things I learned during my agency experience was that SEO should always support business growth, not just rankings.
Because of that, my SEO strategies always focused on:
- High-converting keywords
- Lead-generating pages
- Search intent alignment
- Conversion-focused internal linking
- Supporting commercial pages through informational SEO
Instead of chasing vanity metrics alone, I focused on building traffic systems that could contribute to actual inquiries, bookings, and revenue opportunities.
Final Thoughts
Working at an SEO agency gave me hands-on experience solving SEO problems across multiple industries and business models at a very early stage of my career.
More importantly, it taught me how SEO directly affects traffic, lead generation, bookings, and long-term business growth when executed strategically.
Looking back, one of the most rewarding parts of that experience was seeing businesses grow through the SEO systems and strategies I helped build.
